Original Antique Drawing | Italian Opera Costume
I purchased a collection of these drawings from an art dealer in Verona, Italy. They were attributed to the Italian costume designer, Gianni Vagnetti, but once I began to research Vagnetti’s other works, it led to me think that they were more likely drawn by Filippo Peroni.
An original drawing on artists paper executed in watercolour, pencil and ink, c. 1,857. The gorgeous hues of persimmon, duck egg blue, black and gold are combined to great effect.
Dimensions: 5 1/4” x 8”, drawing alone 9” w x 11” h, framed 4 3/4” w x 6 5/8” h, image size in frame
This drawing is over 100 years old. It’s showing it’s age but aren’t we all?? Please have a careful look before you order.
