Portrait of Lady in White
Portrait of Lady in White
Reminiscent of Wilkie Collins main character, Marian Halcombe in her novel “Lady in White”, the artist has imbued the subject in this portrait with the same clear vision of inner strength and purpose that characterized Marian in the story. Executed in lovely greys, blues and chalky whites.
Oil painting on board by George William Storm (1882 - 1917)
Storm moved from Canada to London, England, in his early twenties to study and to pursue a career as an artist. He had some success and designed posters for the London Underground. He was a Captain in the British Army and fought at Passchendaele in 1917.
